Ford GT Liquid Blue
That Blue I Saw on a Porsche Today
Bayside Blue which comes alive in the right light, but is hard to find a good (stock) picture of
300ZX Sapphire Blue, again hard to find a good stock picture with good condition paint...I know a guy with a good one, it’s very nice

Cosmic blue, it looks purple in the right light. Photos don’t do it justice, if you ever see it in person you’ll get it.

I like the Laguna Seca - but that GT Liquid Blue is very nice. Kind of cobalt, but with a warm metal flake that just asks for a second look.

Saw one of these in person, and it even looked fantastic in cloudy weather

Electron Blue is one of my all time favorite colors hands down.

That M3 looks awesome.
The other two seem a little plain for me, but they’re nice. I don’t think I’ve seen a Commodore in that blue, weird. I’ll be looking for one!

Mine too. My 5th gen Prelude is Nighthawk Black (which is itself a blue paint code), which is also a great color, but EBP is just fantastic up close.

I owned a WRB WRX when my daughter was around 3 and she loved it. I tell her when I spot WRXs and if they aren’t WRB she says “don’t care”. She’s now six.

Oh really? It’s actually from my area too, I suspect I’ve seen it before somewhere. I’m wondering where it is since I live in Victoria. I’m so glad he’s kept it stock, the R34 GT-R is a great looking car kept stock. It looks tuned as it is, but done
right

Delft
. It’s also got VY SS rims, what’s with that!? Dale has a lot to answer for.

Australia gets some of the European stuff. Some of the blues
here
are nice though I’m not sure they’re the same.

Most of the descriptions say Monte Carlo Blue, but it does look very similar. I like the last one in particular, with the tan interior. Never seen that in the US. At some point in the next decade I want to import a car from Japan, and an early S is on my list.
![]() 10/29/2016 at 10:05 |
|
Those were OEM wheels on them for us, and I’m sure we called the color something else here.

Leguna Seca Blue, and yeah the E46 m3 was offered in it as well.
The top car is a Carrera 906.

This is getting weird. That Volvo is hideous :(
![]() 10/29/2016 at 17:30 |
|
Of course you would, crazy yanks!
![]() 10/29/2016 at 17:32 |
|
You’d really import one? Assuming you’re American, you’d live with a RHD car for what are relatively minor differences?
I like the red interiors. It’s so garish :D
![]() 10/29/2016 at 18:08 |
|
It wouldn’t be a primary car, but yes. I’d put up with RHD in exchange for a better condition car for the price compared to one already here, and more commonly available in the exterior colors that I like. Also, I found out we did get the tan interior in the US, but it was hard to find and usually only in white cars. I do like the red interior over the black or the blue.
![]() 10/29/2016 at 19:46 |
|
In Australia, all our cars are RHD and we can import things of any vintage, so it’s a win-win!
Except
we can’t import anything that was sold here. We can import 300ZX turbos and 2-seaters because we only got the NA 2+2, but we can’t import the S2000 I don’t think.
![]() 10/29/2016 at 20:38 |
|
That’s a bit odd, but still better than the 25-year rule. Depending on how it’s regulated, you *might* be able to import an S2K Type S, but they’re practically NSX money.
![]() 10/29/2016 at 21:38 |
|
Edit edit: My images formatted right after all! And no it isn’t! It’s beautiful in its own unique way.
![]() 10/30/2016 at 05:02 |
|
Yeah I’m not sure about the regulations. Is a trim level available for import if we didn’t get it? What if we did get the trim, but it had different options to what was available locally? Could we import a car just because it was available with certain seat material? If so, what about powered foldy mirrors? Many JDM have those where Australian cars do not.
No idea lol. There’s always the chance that someone would approve it but if you ever had to re-register it you’d get someone else who may refuse to approve it. Nightmare.
![]() 10/30/2016 at 10:40 |
|
On a Prelude forum I’m on, there’s a guy in Australia with an imported 1994 VTEC 4WS, which was only sold in Japan. He recently took the 4WS stuff off after it inevitably started crapping out. I always wondered why he didn’t start with a 2WS car in the first place, but that would explain it.
![]() 10/30/2016 at 17:19 |
|
Oh fair enough, maybe that says something.
I think our cars did come with 4WS...but who knows which models/trims. I’ve got a friend who’s deep in the Prelude game (probably knows this guy!) - he’s had an imported 3rd gen. Not sure on what grounds it was imported...I think it had a carby engine :|
![]() 10/30/2016 at 18:15 |
|
Carbed 3rd gens make me sad. Here they were called the S, and we always say the S stands for Slow. Supposedly, you could get a carbureted Integra in Japan until *1995*.
![]() 10/30/2016 at 19:17 |
|
‘95 :O Madness. There must be some reason. Maybe lower taxes because it’s a smaller engine? Dunno.
IIRC it had some desirable JDM bits on it, so that’s something.
